I'm Diego Vokada, a Mexican self-taught cinematographer based in Mexico City, with a solid foundation in camera operating.
I started my career as a camera operator, learning to observe and anticipate rhythm, light, and performance from behind the lens.
Over time, I specialized in handheld work and hand wheels for precision and composition, and later embraced Steadicam as a way to move through space with freedom and emotional intention.

These years on set — collaborating closely with cinematographers and directors — shaped my sensibility for visual storytelling. Now, I’m bringing that experience into projects as a cinematographer, with a naturalistic approach grounded in observation, light, and atmosphere.

I’m especially drawn to landscape, street imagery, and quiet moments that carry meaning. Since becoming a father, I've found a deeper connection to intimacy, time, and memory — all of which influence how I frame and feel the world.
